Time, balancing, and following dreams.

As some of you may know, or you may be hearing if this for the first time, I took the big leap of enrolling in college full time a few years ago to finally pursue my dream of becoming a veterinarian.

Last summer we uprooted, after I completed my associates degree at community college, and moved to TN so that I could attend UT Knoxville's animal science program, with the ultimate goal of getting into UTCVM after I complete my bachelors in animal science. Needless to say, it has been a lot: moving, adjusting to everything, and trying to balance a rigorous academic program as a non-traditional student with everyday life. Taking classes like Stats, Calc, Orgo Chem, Molecular Bio, Genetics, and Physics after not being in school for 20 years is no easy feat! I am also working to gain clinical hours, volunteering at shelters, working on research projects, and doing summer internships all in preparation for my vet school application next summer - whew!!

As you can imagine, this has given me basically no time to devote to my beloved Knottin Fancy Macrame and Beadwork. Perhaps you've noticed that I have not posted on social media in a long while - unfortunately I haven't had time for that either.

So, after much consideration, I have decided that I need to scale back. As of July 1st, 2023, knottinfancy.com will no longer be an ecommerce website. I may keep a gallery version up an running - I'll keep you updated on that once I have made my adjustments, so keep an eye out on social media. I will be making any announcements on there as shop emails will no longer be available once the site is no longer ecommerce.

This is not goodbye though! Macrame and beadwork will continue to be a love of mine, and a source of stress relief, so in my very limited spare time I am still making a few things here and there - which I will post any available items on Etsy and Instagram when I get the chance. I will also still take on select special orders ( just please keep in mind that special orders may take longer to complete, and will depend on my current workloads) via email, Instagram, or Etsy.

I want to thank everyone for their past and continued support. I greatly appreciate each and every customer. I always do a little dance with every sale because every dollar helps alleviate a little bit of my mounting (and panic inducing) educational debt - and because you get a piece of handmade art that brings you peace, happiness, and beauty.

Starting June 10th and running through the end of June, I will be having a shop sale, so if there is something you have had your eye on be sure to grab it up while it's on sale.

Have a beautiful day everyone!

Best,

Rachel
